This Week’s Message

A part of history

The current building of the Stevensville United Methodist Church began as a school in 1885. The school constructed an addition in 1906 and then ceased its operation in the 1920’s. Since its purchase in 1928, this space served the combined congregations of two Methodist congregations (northern and southern branches of Methodist Episcopalism). Despite theological disagreements, the church united and learned to live in dialogue and care for each other and the community. The remodeled historic building with a sanctuary dating back to 1928 remains a cornerstone from which people find faith, care, and community engagement in Montana's oldest town - Stevensville.
