The purpose of the organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in global ministries of the church.

UMW meets every other month on the third Saturday of the month at 10:00 am. Check the Calendar (add link to google cal).

Mission Focus for 2016 -2020

• Criminalization of Communities of Color: Interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline that places children on an adversarial path with law enforcement. Goal for 202 is a 25% reduction in school arrests in most impacted areas.
• Economic Inequality: Adopt legislation in states and localities that builds the base for a living wage – the goal is to have legislation in 25 states by 2022.
• Climate Justice: Reduce carbon footprint emissions of corporations and individuals, working toward a 25% reduction in carbon emissions by the top two contributing sectors by 2024
• Maternal and Child Health: Decrease maternal mortality; develop a network of women’s health advocates for access to health care and education.
